Tayrona National Park
Day 2
![]() |
Day 2 was a huge 8-hour, or more, event. We departed our cozy first camp and then went four hours until we got to another camp where we ate lunch. Then we pushed on and in pouring rain headed to the large camp by the river. That place is about two hours from the Lost City. As the rain kept falling, the river got faster and louder and finally impossible to cross. By the end of the day I was lagging and it became a race to get to the river crossing before it became dangerously high. Pedro urged me on. |

And off we went |

I forget what Pedro was pointing out. I think that's probably a coca plant |

The call 'Mula' got us quickly out of the way of any approaching mule trains to let them safely pass |

Natives, usually accompanied by a dog or two, zip right past us |

And thanks for the occasional rest stops, where sometimes we meet other groups, compare notes, eat some fruit, check gear, or examine extremities for bites, and so forth |

After four hours we arrived at this camp for a little rest and some food. I though it was really good. |
